The Fateful Holidays. Passover
Artist
Elena Kotliarker
Medium
Painting - Acrylic On Textured Canvas
Description
As an artist who has created a four painting composition titled "Jewish Holidays," I am excited to share with you a single painting from this collection, dedicated to the Jewish holiday of Passover.
The painting depicts an angel blowing a trumpet on the upper half, situated above the stone tablets of the covenant. This represents the moment when Moses received the Ten Commandments from God on Mount Sinai, a pivotal event in Jewish history. The angel blowing the trumpet is a symbol of the divine presence and power that was present during this moment.
On the bottom half of the painting, a huge crowd of people can be seen crossing the sea between the walls of water. This crowd is protected by huge wings that guard this passage, symbolizing the divine protection that God provided to the Jewish people during their escape from slavery in Egypt.
